Abstract
The main problem in this study is the lack of motivation among students in learning English at SMK Islam Kunjang Kediri. Students struggle to understand English, which can affect their ability to communicate and compete in the workforce. The factors contributing to this problem are the lack of interest among students in learning English and ineffective teaching methods. The impact of this problem is that students have low English proficiency, which can affect their ability to communicate and compete in the workforce. Therefore, this study explores the techniques used by teachers in teaching students in English learning using English songs in listening learning to improve student motivation and the benefits of teaching using English songs in listening learning to improve student motivation for students. This study uses a qualitative method, with primary data collected through interviews with students of SMK Islam Kunjang Kediri. Secondary data that has been collected is taken from the research topic, including the content of interviews from the informants. The results show that songs give students a positive perception in listening learning to improve student motivation by creating a pleasant atmosphere to eliminate boredom in learning in the classroom.
