Abstract
Reading is how to undesrtand the writen means. Reading gives the information, knowledge, and some ideas, it can be concluded that reading is very important. To get knowladge and information, the readers need skill of reading. Vocabulary mastery and reading habit are good for reading skill This study aims to answer the statements of problems those are: 1) How is reading habit among the seventh grade students of MTsN 1 Kediri. 2) How is the vocabulary mastery among the seventh grade students of MTsN 1 Kediri. 3) How is the reading skill among the seventh grade students of MTsN 1 Kediri. 4) How is the significant simultaneous of reading habit and vocabulary mastery toward reading skill at MTsN 1 Kediri. 5) How is the partial significant correalation of reading habit and vocabulary matery toward reading skill among the seventh grade students of MTsN 1 Kediri. The research used descriptive quantitative method design. Quantitative was related to the computation of number. The data obtained was number. Reading habit data was taken from answer of questionnaire, the questionnaire contains 20 questions. Students' vocabulary mastery was taken from students score test, the queation contains 20 questions. And 20 question for reading skill tests. The result of this research was described descriptively based on the data gotten. In this case, the seventh grade students of MTsN 1 Kediri were taken as population consisting of 376 students and 194 as samples taken by Slovin Theory. The result of the reading habit usage belongs to fair category. First, it is proven that the 129 students get fair score of questionnaire with the percentage is 66%. Second, for vocabulary mastery there are 103 students belongs to good category with the percentage 53%. And the last for reading skill there are 102 students belongs to good category with the percentage 52%. Finally, to correlate between two variables of data that is reading habit, vocabulary mastery and reading skill the research used the simultaneous relationship technique. The simultaneous correlation (Regression) value is 472,873. The significant level is 0,000 (b). It is less than 5% significant level. It means the alternative hypothesis is accepted. And there is positive correlation between reading habit and vocabulary mastery toward reading skill toward reading skill among the seventh students of MTsN 1 Kediri.
