Abstract

In this era, students need not only formal education, but also non-formal education. They like to take care after school. Course is to complete the studying in formal education, to give more knowledge, human skill, and to be able to develop the ability inside, improving the occupation and independence. When the students cannot get maximal in speaking English at school, they can join some courses that is focusing on English. One of them is FAJAR English Course that has known well to make students are able to speak English because they will be helped by 20 teachers who have many experiences in English. The aim of research is to describe the teaching speaking by using storytelling technique at FAJAR English Course. Those are including teacher’s preparation, material thought, media used, method used, teachers’ evaluation in learning, and students’ respond toward the teacher in teaching speaking at FAJAR English Course. The research used descriptive qualitative as research design. The subject was 20 students of storytelling class at FAJAR English Course. The method used in collecting data was interview, observation and documentation. interview and observation used for collecting data on teacher’s preparation, material used, media used, technique used, teachers’ evaluation in learning, and students’ respond toward the teacher in teaching speaking at FAJAR English Course and documentation used for collecting picture that we did research. The result of research is to show that teacher’s preparation, material, media, technique, teacher’s evaluation and students’ respond in teaching speaking by using storytelling technique at FAJAR English Course was very gaad.
