Abstract

Good English pronunciation is important to comprehend the native speaker and to commumicate as native speaker, because English is an international. There are a lot of factors that affect English pronunciation, two of them are ways of learning and environment. When the students have good ways of learning and environment, they will get good pronunciation. on the other hand, if the students have bad ways of learning and environment, their English pronunciation will be bad too. This research was carried out to describe four objectives of study : (1) how ways of learning among second grade students of SMPN 1 Semen is, (2) how how environment among second grade students of SMPN 1 Semen is, (3) how Students English Pronunciation among second grade students of SMPN 1 Semen is, (4) whether there is significant correlation between ways of learning and environment toward student’s English Pronunciation simultaneously and partially among the second grade students of SMPN 1 Semen. Descriptive quantitative method is used by the researcher as research design. Quantitative was related to the computation of number. The data obtained was number. The questionnaire was used to collect the data of Ways of Learning and Environment, the questionnaire of Ways of learning and Environment consist
of 30 questions. Test used to take the data of Student’s English Pronunciation, the form of test was spoof text . The result of this research was described based on the data gotten. In this case, the second grade students of SMPN 1 Semen were taken as population consisting of 298 students and 175 as samples taken by Sloven Theory. The result of (1) ways of learning belongs to good category. It is proven that the 124 students have good value in ways of learning. The percentage of this category is 71% (2) For the environment included into good category, there are 89 students belongs to good category. It is proven with the percentage 51%. (3) For their English pronunciation is included into good category, there are 99 students
