Abstract

Leaming,Student Centered Learning is one of approach was popular, In this approach the student as a center of the class. They are looking for materials then explain it and in this approach, teacher just be a facilitator, that means teacher just giving the facilities and control class, In this approach have many methods to used, in traditional teaching, the role of teacher is as the center of knowledge, but in modern teaching the role of teacher is as a facilitator. To solve those problems, problem-based learning gives a solution for teaching learning process, The statement of problemis: (1)How is the speaking skill of the students in experimental class who have been taught by student center learning at Man 4 Kediri? (2)How is the in speaking skill of the students in control class who have been taught by student center learning at Man 4 Kediri?(3)How is the significant difference of students’ speaking skill on advertisement text in experimental class who have been taught by using student center learning and in control class which have not been taught by student center learning at MAN 4 Kediri?(4)How is the effectiveness of student center learning in teaching speaking. The Objectives of the study are to: (1)To describe how the speaking of students in experimental class which have been taught by using student center learning on advertisement text at MAN 4 Kediri.(2)To describe how the speaking skill of the student in control class which have not been taught by using student center learning on advertisement text at MAN4Kediri.(3)To analyze whether there is any significant difference of speaking skill between the experimental and the control.(4)To analyze whether student center learning is effective to be used in teaching speaking at the tenth grade of MAN 4Kediri. Research method: 1) the research design is true-experimental design using Post Test only control group design. 2) location of researchwas MAN 4 KEDIRI. 3) population and sample; population was the students of eighth student of MAN 4 KEDIRI and the sample was selected X IIS IV and X IIS 1. 4) research instrumentwas test (post-test in control class and post-test in experimental class). 5) research procedure. 7) The data analysis of research is T-Test. The research finding in this research is the mean score of speaking control groupwithout using Student Center Learning is 63,54and in the experimental group by SCL is 70.06. based on the criteria of the students' score is good score it was improved, with the t-test analysis that used by researcher, the result of t Count is by comparing the
